  • Just one of those mornings.....

Trenton woke up sick this morning so we aren't getting much done except cleaning up vomit and watching movies. The girls are fine so far but I am dreading the coming hours.....

Med school (MS1; meaning first year med student) for Todd is going really well. Skin, Blood, and Lymph was a really hard section; supposedly the hardest section of the first year! And Tegan was born right smack in the middle of the section (sections are about 6 weeks long) causing him to miss classes and much study time!! But God was soooo good allowing him to retain information from what classes he did attend and be able to cram enough before the final to pass.... Wahoo!! That was right before Christmas. This section is Respitory and is much more in an area that Todd has much experience so the first quiz was a breeze. He got a solid A for that one and it really gave him a much needed morale boost!

I am scrambling to put together a realistic and workable schedule for the kids and I as well as Todd so that we can pull off everything that needs to be accomplished. Todd is working out again really hard; trying to get more energy and improved brain function (something that is a constant concern to him as many of you know......... cracks me up!! lol). He rides his bike to school (a full 5 mile very hilly trek... just one way) about four to five days a week and lifts about 3 days a week. His endurance is improving but he can't seem to see any fat moving yet but at 34 he is realistic about the amount of time that will take... I really should build into my schedule somewhere an exercise routine as well but I really hate doing it and I don't have that much to loose from Tegan. I'm worried I will loose too much anyway from nursing but I do need to strength train and build up my cardio endurance..... Ah, getting healthy is such a pain in the neck!!

  • Just finished reading to the kids and listening to them read to me. I love these moments of bliss!! They are so enraptured by the story of these boys and beg me to keep reading but I'm not ready for it to be over just yet....

  • Traveling in Arizona

Last year Todd worked in Arizona as a flight paramedic on a medical transport plane. He would be on call there for 2 weeks or more so often we traveled with him out there and stayed in a small single wide trailer provided by the base. We has some unique experiences on those trips. One of the highlights for me was when my parents kept all the kids and Todd and I were out there alone for 2 weeks! It was really fun to have the time alone.

    Relaxing in AZ

I got to go on a couple of non-emergant transports with him. One was to Phenix. I had never been there and was shocked to step off the plane to 115 degree weather!!! I thought we would dry up and blow away in a matter of minutes!! Unfortunately, it seems several people just about did....

During those weeks my sister, Amber, was passing through on her way to Los Angeles with her friend Louisa and stopped by to spend the night. We ate dinner at a mexican restaurant and then went back to the trailer and crashed.

The next morning we all drove to the Grand Canyon for a few memorable hours. On the way we stopped and took pictures with an Indian's horse. Louisa has been a model for years and Amber has a thriving professional photography business so we spent a very memorable (at least for the Navajo man!!) half hour snapping away. Here she had borrowed his hat for a few shots.

    (My little pregnant belly there...)

I had never been to the Grand Canyon and it was truly spectacular!!!
