  • I’ve been Tagged!

    Ok, I guess I’m supposed to list 7 random things about me. So here goes:

    1. My first cat’s name was Princess. I got her for my 6th birthday and she died when I was 20 years old! I loved that cat!
    2. When I was 10 years old I sang for the theme song of a children’s cartoon called Charming Billy. I loved every minute of that recording session! I still have the tape and the kids just laugh and laugh at my little voice on there.
    3. As a teenager, I was terrified of driving a car!! I fought my parents about getting my drivers license. I managed to make it to almost 17 before my dad dragged me kicking and screaming to drivers ed class. My dad was irritated with me for putting it off but I think a little proud too. Now I love to drive. Even long road trips thrill me. And I can handle a stick like nobody’s business! LOL!
    4. I wore glasses as a teenager. But I now I have perfect vision. ha! Go figure!
    5. My baby sister was born one day before my 13th birthday. That morning when my mom and dad brought her home from the hospital they asked me to keep an eye on her while they napped. As soon as they fell asleep I packed my less-than-one-day-old sister into the stroller and took her all over the neighborhood to show her off to my friends. Hours later one of my mom’s friends saw me and called my mom in histerics wondering if she knew where her baby was?? LOL! Baby sis never made a peep. And I think mom had a pretty good nap too…
    6. I love movies! My idea of a fun evening is watching a movie and cuddling on the couch with my hubby.
    7. I hate “health food”. That’s probably some kind of crime but I can’t stand the stuff! I don’t mind veggies and a plain ol’ salad with my meat and potatoes. I even prefer whole wheat bread but regular store bread is fine for me. And I don’t get the organic thing. Why would anyone want to eat food bugs have been eating too!?! Ug!

    So there you go! My random things…. Now I have to tag 7 people sooooo… I tag… *drum roll please*

    Beth, Julie, Summer, Jessica, Vallorie, Millicent, and Jenni

    Can’t wait to read yours!

  • Grateful Praise

    For the beauty of the earth,
    For the glory of the skies;
    For the love which from our birth,
    Over and around us lies;
    Lord of all, to Thee we raise

    This, our hymn of grateful praise.

    For the wonder of each hour,
    Of the day and of the night;
    Hill and vale and tree and flow'r,
    Sun and moon, and stars of light;
    Lord of all, to Thee we raise
    This, our hymn of grateful praise.

    For the joy of ear and eye,
    For the heart and mind's delight;
    For the mystic harmony,
    Linking sense to sound and sight;
    Lord of all, to Thee we raise
    This, our hymn of grateful praise.

    For the joy of human love,
    Brother, sister, parent, child;
    Friends on Earth and friends above,
    For all gentle thoughts and mild;
    Lord of all, to Thee we raise
    This, our hymn of grateful praise.

    For Thy church that evermore,
    Lifteth holy hands above;
    Off'ring up on ev'ry shore,
    Her pure sacrifice of love;
    Lord of all, to Thee we raise
    This, our hymn of grateful praise.

    For Thyself, best Gift Divine,
    To the world so freely given,
    For that great, great love of Thine,
    Peace on earth and joy in heaven.
    Lord of all, to Thee we raise
    This, our hymn of grateful praise.

  • Announcing the Official Launch of www.trulytaken.com!

    Well, it’s done!!! With some help from Little Brother I am finally ready to announce the Official Launch of my business, TrulyTaken and it’s brand spanking new website: www.trulytaken.com.

    I’m really proud of it cause Caleb and I built it ourselves. I’m no website programmer but I had so much fun building logos, designing pdf documents, playing with colors, and such. Caleb handled a lot of the writing and I did edits. It’s hard for me to talk about myself but with his help hopefully it’s fun, upbeat, and shows the kind of company I hope we will continue to strive for. But again, I’m sure much could be improved and I had something else entirely in my head when I first thought of my website but I’m loving this look and feel more and more and am dying to know what you think!!

    So?! What do ya think???

  • Birthday weekend!

     What kind of a photographer/mother am I?? I have two little darlings who had birthdays this weekend and I haven’t even done photoshoots for them!! They both LOVE getting their picture taken and I love doing it… it just is so crazy right now I haven’t gotten to it!

    So Darling Birthday Child #1, my sweet ball o’ energy, Tyler LenĂ©e, turned 5 on Friday, the 29th. She is massively excited to be 5 and officially a Kindergartener! More pictures of this cutie petutie to come!

    Darling Birthday Child # 2 is my most handsome (one and only) son, Trenton Lee! He turned the big 1-0 on Saturday, the 30th. I still can’t believe I have a child that is 10 years old!?! *sigh*

    He and I went to the Renaissance Festival most all day and then had a big party that evening for both Darling Birthday Children. Grilled out hamburgers with 5 cosins and several other friends in attendance. It was fun but again, what kind of photographer am I if don’t even take out my camera at my own kid’s birthday parties???
